MSRV Agar
Selective enrichment medium for detecting Salmonella spp.

Modified semi-solid Rappaport-Vassiliadis (MSRV) Agar is medium used for the selective enrichment of motile Salmonellae in animal feces and environmental samples.
Positive result: the presence of a grey-white turbid halo spreading outward from the inoculation spot indicates motile Salmonella spp. growth.
Negative result: if the medium remains blue-green around the inoculation area with no visible migration, plates should be re-incubated for an additional 18–24 hours before confirming a negative result
